“I don’t believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is vertical, so it is humiliating. Goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other and learns from the other.” Eduardo Galeano
ABOUT THE BEES
PDA is a solidarity organisation that works in partnership with one Indigenous Organisation in Mexico called The Bees who are working to promote peace and preserve cultural and biological diversity.
PDA takes a long-term approach to our work with an emphasis on capacity building and supporting the process of self-determination.
PDA is run by volunteers and has minimal administrative expenses in order to ensure that all donations go a long way to supporting those most in need.
MORE INFOPROJECTS
PDA is currently supporting a range of project areas and has adopted a long-term strategy with all of them, which allows for a process of organisational strengthening, learning, and capacity building through the actual implementation of the projects.
Thus the projects are not an ends in themselves but part of the process of learning and the development of self determination.
